This policy covers both data privacy and cookies in one place, since on this site they're the same underlying subject: what we collect through your use of gwbagu.com, and what we do with it.

Who we are

GW Bagu ("GWB", "we", "us") is an advisory firm based in Nigeria. This policy applies to gwbagu.com and to the services, digital products, and forms on it. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us through the contact page.

What we collect

We collect data in a few specific ways, not through blanket tracking:

  • Forms. When you submit the contact form or a service brief, we collect your name, email, and whatever else you write in the message.
  • Bookings. When you book a consultation through Cal.com, we collect your name, email, and the time you selected.
  • Purchases. When you buy a digital product or a service, payment is processed by Paystack. We receive confirmation that payment was made and basic order details; we do not receive or store your card details ourselves.
  • Newsletter and free downloads. If you sign up for a free download or our mailing list, we collect your email address for that purpose.
  • Usage data. Standard analytics data, pages visited, approximate location by country/city, device and browser type, and referring site, collected automatically through the tools listed under Cookies below.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use two categories:

  • Essential. Used to make the site and its forms work correctly. These can't be switched off without breaking basic functionality.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics, Plausible, and HubSpot's analytics tools to understand how the site is used in aggregate, which pages get read, roughly where visitors are located, and how they arrived. We don't use these to build an individual advertising profile of you, and we don't sell data to advertisers.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so may affect analytics accuracy but won't break the site's core functionality: forms, bookings, and purchases don't depend on analytics cookies.

How we use your data

We use the data above to:

  • Respond to enquiries and deliver the service or product you've asked for
  • Send the email sequence relevant to what you signed up for or purchased
  • Keep a record of client engagements in our CRM
  • Understand which content and services are actually useful, so we can improve them

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Who your data passes through

Form submissions, bookings, and purchases on this site are processed through a small number of third-party tools rather than our own servers: Tally (forms), Cal.com (bookings), Paystack (payments), Make (automation connecting the tools below), HubSpot (CRM), and MailerLite (email). Each of these has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data on our behalf, and each acts as a data processor for us rather than an independent controller of your data.

Some pages on this site (see Recommended tools) link to third-party products through affiliate links. Clicking one takes you to that company's own site, governed by their own privacy policy, not ours.

Data protection law and your rights

GWB is based in Nigeria and this site is primarily governed by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), enforced by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Under the NDPA, you have the right to know what data we hold about you, correct it, request its deletion, and object to how it's used.

If you're contacting us from the EU, UK, or elsewhere with its own data protection law, we extend the same practical rights: access, correction, deletion, and objection; regardless of which specific law applies to your situation. To exercise any of these, contact us through the contact page..

How long we keep data

We keep client and enquiry data for as long as it's relevant to an active or potential engagement, plus a reasonable period after for record-keeping. Newsletter and marketing email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. You can request deletion at any time at the email address above, subject to any records we're legally required to retain.

Security

We rely on the security practices of the established third-party providers listed above (Tally, Cal.com, Paystack, HubSpot, MailerLite, Make) rather than storing sensitive data on our own infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't take on more direct data-handling risk than necessary by keeping this on established, audited platforms.

Children's privacy

This site and our services are intended for businesses and professionals. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "last updated" date above when this policy changes. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
